(bradycardia and hypotonia possible). Provide supportive measures for
respiratory and cardiac action. Give artificial respiration if signs of
paralysis appear. Additional measures involve the elimination of the
substance from the body or acceleration of its excretion
(gastrolavage).

Pest

Dosage
|
Remarks
|
|
Cockroaches, fishmoths, ants, crickets
|
Normal conditions:
20 ml / 10 l water
Extremely dirty conditions, and for long
residual action:
40 mℓ / 10 ℓ water
|
Thoroughly spray hiding places (e.g. cracks and
crevices, behind stoves and sinks, in cupboards, around
drains and rubbish bins etc.) and other areas where
pests occur with 50 mℓ spray mixture/m2. If
hiding places are not directly accessible spray a
barrier around them. The spray deposit should not be
washed off.
|
|
Ants
|
Drench the nest with this mixture and spray the
surface of the nest and surrounding area.
|
|
Bedbugs
|
Clean all bedding and clothing. Spray hiding areas
(e.g. behind pictures, cracks and crevices etc.) and
bed frames
|
|
Fleas
|
Clean or vacuum infested areas and dispose off all
dust collected. Spray all infested areas, especially
where pets sleep, as well as under furniture with 50 mℓ
of spray mixture/m2. Pets should be treated
with a suitable flea control product.
|
|
Flies, mosquitoes
|
Spray 50 mℓ of spray mixture/m2 to areas
where flying insect pests rest, such as doors,
ceilings, girders, the side of animal pens, around
windows and surrounding vegetation. NB: The concurrent
use of products to control the larval stage (e.g.
*Starycide® SC for fly larvae) as part of a
program will give the best results as it will reduce
the re-invasion of pests. Livestock can be left in the
stable while spraying, however, feedstuff, water and
feeding troughs should not come into contact with the
spray mixture.

Tsetse flies on targets or traps
|
- 160 mℓ / 10 ℓ water:
Use this dilution if the efficacy period of up to 3
months is intended.
- 320 mℓ / 10 ℓ water:
Use this dilution if the efficacy period of up to 8
months is intended.
- 640 ml / 10 l water:
Use this dilution if the efficacy period of up to 12
months is intended.
|
Impregnation of target / trap cloth or netting
(cotton or cotton mixtures): Determine the number of
target / trap cloths / nets which can be dipped
simultaneously and then make up just sufficient
Tempo® SC mixture of the required
concentration, to thoroughly saturate all the cloths /
nets without wasting dip solution. Work dip into cloths
/ nets by lifting and turning them. Dry the impregnated
cloths / nets by spreading them out flat on a dry and
non-absorbent surface. Shady conditions are preferred.
For standardization of treatment and to reduce the
danger of environmental contamination it is preferable
to treat all cloths / nets at one point and then, when
dry, carefully fold and transport to site where they
are to be used.
Spray coating of target / trap cloth or netting
(cotton or cotton mixtures): Spray each target or trap
with sufficient Tempo® SC mixture, of the
required concentration, to thoroughly wet without loss
due to unnecessary drip-off. Where only a part of the
target or trap needs to be treated, this can be done on
a flat sloping surface using a paint roller. Care must
be taken that none of the Tempo® SC mixture
is lost through drip-off. Dry impregnated cloths / nets
by spreading out flat on a dry, non-absorbent surface.
Shady conditions are preferred.

|
Litter beetle (lesser mealworm)
|
Low infestation:
20 ml / 10 l water
High infestation:
40 mℓ / 10 ℓ water
|
Place the litter in each house after the house has
been cleaned and disinfected. For best results allow
disinfectant to dry before placing the litter into each
house. Spray the Tempo® SC mixture to
deliver 50 mℓ/m2 over the litter area of each house.
Rake all spray treatments into the litter.
NB: The concurrent use of products to control the
larval stage (*Starycide® SC) is recommended
as it will reduce the re-invasion of pests. Feedstuff,
water and feeding troughs should not come into contact
with the spray mixture.
